Slicer Flow Calibration - Accuracy of Calipers is limited

Open GiroroG66 opened this issue 2 years ago • 0 comments

I would like to see a note on the Slicer Flow Calibration page to have people take note of the accuracy of their measuring tools, as this is a significant limiting factor for most people following the procedure. A Micrometer should be recommended for testing the thickness of a single 0.4mm wall. Your typical digital calipers may display in 0.01mm increments, but they only have an accuracy of +- 0.02mm. A perfect measurement of 0.4mm may actually be anywhere in the range of 0.38mm-0.42mm, which is a 10% difference between the min and max possible thickness. As most people don't have a micrometer, this inaccuracy could also be mitigated with thicker walls or with more walls.
