lithostratigraphicTerms - Darwin Core Hour Input Form 5/23/2019 12:02:06
A user submitted this information via the Darwin Core Hour webform: Timestamp: 5/23/2019 12:02:06 Please provide a topic of interest: lithostratigraphicTerms: it seems to be both the age (time) and rock combined. Is there a place to just name the rock? Or, should lithostratigraphicTerms only refer to the rock name? Are you capable of and interested in participating: Yes Who else would you recommend to participate in the presentation: Edward Davis What resources can you point to: PBDB lithostratigraphy definitions Your name: Meghan Balk Your email: [email protected] Your GitHub username: @megbalk
Since the implementation of the ChronometricAge extension (https://tools.gbif.org/dwca-validator/extension.do?id=http://zooarchnet.org/dwc/terms/ChronometricAge), the age (time) can be much more rigorously captured and shared. This leaves lithostratigraphicTerms to be for the rock name. I would be be interested to hear any suggestions for a term redefinition for lithostratigraphicTerms.
See what we have at http://arctos.database.museum/info/ctDocumentation.cfm?table=CTGEOLOGY_ATTRIBUTE (sorry that our definitions aren't visible on the public code table page)

Not sure exactly what you are looking to define? This? http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/lithostratigraphicTerms or all of the various terms? (formation, member, bed) or all of them?
