Biology Stack Exchange Site
Stack Exchange became quite robust in exposing/permeating/deduping/curating questions/answers. There is an existing 'Biology' site https://biology.stackexchange.com/. May be we can start use it forTDWG/DarwinCore questions with the corresponsing tags.
Hi @dimus - an interesting idea and others have suggested using stack before. I believe our hesitancy stems mainly from the fact that we want to be able to curate and collate the answers to link to the Darwin Core documentation - see this resource https://github.com/tdwg/dwc-qa/wiki. I didn't know there was a biology.stackexchange though - and it could prove very useful for lots of questions from our community. Perhaps those we cannot answer that are out of our scope - we could direct people to post them at this stackexchange. And in any case, it would be great to get folks tagging issues with tdwg or darwincore for example.
What I like about Stack Exchange ecosystem, they are very often rated highly by search engines and people tend to go extra mile in the answers because good questions/answers increase 'reputation' for the participants. Another bonus is that they would expose DarwinCore to broader community. Yes, adding tdwg and darwincore tags to the system would allow filter biology.stackexchange questions easily.
@tdwg/dwc-qa how might we use biology.stackexchange.com to our advantage?
