Allow creating new conversations

I'm writing a plugin for an IM client using hangouts (https://github.com/davidedmundson/telepathy-hangups)

I have a lovely list of users from userlist, generated from entitites; what I seem to be missing is any call to create a new conversation with one of these contacts.

You are correct, creating new conversations has not been implemented yet.

Telepathy bindings for hangups would be great, I'll add a link to your project in the readme.

I have implemented creating new conversations and adding users to existing conversations, here is pull request: https://github.com/tdryer/hangups/pull/86

Low level API calls are now implemented thanks to @xmikos.

Leaving this open though until it's also available in the reference client UI.

Hoping this could be implemented in the reference UI client or if there any hacks I could do to get basic support. Just a keybind to add an gmail address or similar would be enough.

Any update or am i missing this? I am unable to see my full user list so I can't start new conversations with everyone. Just recents - once I go to my mobile app or the desktop web app.
