Hi. I am about to launch an unofficial Telegram client and I would love to know whether someone uses it to decide if it's reasonable to continue development. Is there a way to see how many people are connecting to servers with my api_id? I REALLY don't want to use third party services like Google Analytics because of concerns about privacy of Telegram users.

There is no such statistics yet, but it is a good idea to add such statistics in the future.
