This is actually an issue with the # of file descriptors given to rd_tool. Changing ulimit isn't enough. We need to change the maximum number of file descriptors in /etc/security/limits.conf....

Those videos segfault locally for me (on aspen for example): $AOMENC --codec=$CODEC --ivf --frame-parallel=0 --tile-columns=0 --auto-alt-ref=2 --cpu-used=0 --passes=2 --threads=1 --kf-min-dist=$KFINT --kf-max-dist=$KFINT --lag-in-frames=25 --end-usage=q --cq-level=$x -o $BASENAME.ivf $EXTRA_OPTIONS $FILE Pass 1/2...

This breaks viewing historical runs with the old naming. I think some sort of workaround would be needed for that.

Autoconf is also portable, and works well with cross-compiling. There are already hand-maintained VS projects. Was there another target you were looking for with CMake?

Uh, I didn't read that as there being no need. The existing Makefile is insufficient.

Pull request #10 adds autotools support. Would you be up for reviewing it?

All package managers I know of have the ability to specify multiple source packages - I'd expect them to specify the model data as one of the sources. The nixpkgs...
