v6 release lacks base information

Open Styroporamboss opened this issue 4 months ago • 10 comments

Please release the source files (it's called open source for a reason)

Please release more product data (e.g. rear stack: M2 or again the v5 rear stack size?)

Please release information about the compatibility of v5 components: are arms compatible? are they compatible to v5 TPU boots? are antenna mounts compatible

Please release information about camera compatibility: is the TPU cam holder even part of the shipped frame? which cameras does ist support? Are props out of view?

Please release TPU base parts: antenna mount single and double, camera mount, arm guards/boots

regarding this open source project: No proper documentation, no discussion about developments, no resources for ~half a year after release, the official discord was abandoned for years (literally) before it was renamed and never mentioned by TBS again.

I have no idea what this project intends to be. The release of the v6 frame is even more halfhearted, than the v5 release. At least v5 was mentioned on the TBS couch on youtube. v6 not even that...

I'm very surprised the source files for V6 haven't been released yet. Really strange. Was hoping for TPU STL's and DXF's of the frame.

I can answer some of these questions (I'm a TBS Dealer in the USA, and I have already got the first batch of frames in stock and more ordered on the way!)

The rear stack supports 20x20 M2

I dont think the arms are compatible, but the skidz look the same (printing v5 now to see if they fit, but pattern looks the same)

Cam plates are offset 20mm, so you should be able to fit DJI, WS, HDZ, and Micro/Nano Analog cameras. The included TPU is a softmount for traditional cameras mounted by a single hole. there are 3 holes to choose from, each going further back so you can protect your camera lens. I'll be making inserts for the DJI 03 and 04 Pro cameras as soon as the v6 files come available. Hopefully this week.

there is no antenna mount included, I'll be printing tails, the new offset is 22mm.

I dont think the frame has been officially released, but trappy sent them to me, because I've been begging to get my calipers on them

files are up. sorry for the delay! we haven't done a V6 couch yet, supposed to happen this week but Wayne has been sick and I've been a bit under the weather.

Thanks @tbs-trappy Is a battery pad not included in V6? I didn't see a file for that.

Is it possible to include .step files or an assembly from the CAD package of your choice? @tbs-trappy

(The podracer fusion assembly was super nice to have as reference)

yes please add Fusion 360 assembly. F3D.

yes please add Fusion 360 assembly. F3D.

you should be able to pull the full assembly into Fusion 360 now...that's how I built all my parts for the source One.

Here's what I designed for it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7159396
