High Contrast Mode swapping hue is really confusing
When High Contrast Mode is enabled, looks like green becomes orange, and orange becomes blue. I tried it out and found it hard to play. This also applies to the results that people copy-and-paste, so it's hard to compare results between people who are using it and people who are not. I guess people who are accustomed to that colour scheme wouldn't want to lose it, but maybe a third one could be good? And should shared results really follow it?
Haha I just noticed it's the same as Wordle, including the shared results, so I guess that's where it came from. But I don't think I've ever seen anyone share high-contrast Wordle. Maybe high contrast is more needed in this game because it has the arrows which are harder to see. I did come across another Wordle-like (but I forget which one) where changing the colour scheme for play didn't change the shared colours.
So on further thought,
- Could you improve the contrast on the arrows in the default colour scheme?
- I think the shared results should look the same for everyone whichever colour scheme they played with.
Hi @HelenFoster , thanks for your comments. The High Contrast Mode colour theme (orange and blue - inherited from English Wordle) is designed for players who have colour vision deficiency. I would assume that they would like to be able to share their results in orange and blue as well.
If you like to share your results in green and yellow, after you've completed your daily game, you can close the Winning pop-up, and go to Settings to switch off High Contrast Mode, and go to the Winning pop-up again to share your results in green and yellow.
Hi @HelenFoster , you suggested improving the contrast on the arrows in the default colour scheme (green and yellow). In what way the arrows are not too clear? Could you elaborate more?
Hi, I'm talking about green arrows on grey, like this, which I think is not too clear. I can see everything else on the default colour scheme no problem.

I was playing in the default colours, and I changed to dark mode recently (which is somewhat higher contrast with the same hues). The problem was that I was sharing results with a high-contrast user, so I was posting results in green and yellow, and they were posting results in orange and blue, and it's almost impossible to see the similarities between their result and mine.

That's true, and I might ask them if they start playing again, but it's a lot of steps.
If English Wordle had just put blue and orange the other way around, there wouldn't have been an issue :( but too late to do that now.
