for Device ZPA GH305 (SML), add a hint for required PIN

Open Radoom opened this issue 1 year ago • 7 comments

First of all: !!! Thanks for your awesome work !!!

@ re PR: arendst/tasmota#

In Tasmota documentation / SmartMeter Interface for Device ZPA GH305 (SML), please add a hint to the (maybe) required PIN to unlock this Device. "Energy provider may have to supply a PIN code to enable output of additional data."

For this device a "PIN" may be required, which can be obtained from the grid provider / meter operator ("Messstellenbetreiber"). See here for example cases where this was necessary: https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/discussions/18091

Will likely save others from some searching around if they directly get this hint.

@Radoom to reflect what is desired, please change issue Title to "for Device ZPA GH305 (SML), add a hint for required PIN"

Great! Could I encourage you to implemented the proposed change yourself too? The required effort is about as much as changing the issue title :) I'm happy to assist you in case of questions.

Basically yes sure...however, I have no clue how and where I'd have to do that. Never "contributed" a single character to any project except for testing feedback/bug reports.

I've created PR to clarify editing as below instructions were missing

You can edit and suggest change by clicking on the pencil button on the top right of the page. That will help you create a fork of the doc repository into your own GitHub account where you will make the change. Then submit your changes by creating a PR (pull request) to the original Tasmota/docs repository
