Poor handling of error when waiting to join group

I don't think #2091 closed this.

Testing site broken (private chatroom not syncing across devices)

Re-opening this as I'm not convinced it's fixed and making it depend on #2110 being closed.

"Trying to reconnect..." appears for too long (websocket / pubsub issue)

Here's a possible fix discussed by @corrideat and I: - Increase the connection timeout to be equal to the max interval time between reconnect (i.e. the 1 minute it correctly...

Think more deeply about how Chatroom contracts are sync'd.

Closing stale issue... @corrideat thinks it's not needed. Can revisit later if needed.
