what about the name? it exactly uses the datasource of the attached component to "convert" or "serach" it therefor "SelectItemsConverter" wouldnt fit as we also support e.g. PickList model

we need a sample project here i dont think we can change anything here: 1) AFAIK there is no "global" web.xml for all applications in the servlet specs 2) AFAIK...

why 14.0.1? current release is RC1, next will be either RC2 or final can you re-trigger the tests after merging the current open rowCount PR?

IMO its not good to put such enhancements in a bugfix release, better 15.0.0 then
