Support Windows
Please add support for Windows (UWP) . Seeing how other forks have this. PLeeeeeeeaaaasssee
I don't currently have a windows setup. I'd be happy to consider a merge if you would like to submit a pr.
Hey @mymanga,
I got UWP support started. The code is in src/windows. It's not complete because I'm currently not able to get the pushnotificationreceived event fired even though push notifications do arrive at my windows 10 VM.
If you have UWP experience, please help me move passed this so I can add Windows support for you. Take a look at this stackoverflow question for more details
Thanks
Good to see this moving, but no experience at all, Im a web designer try to learn how to code :(
@taivo Have you taken a look in this code?
https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugin-push/blob/master/src/windows/PushPluginProxy.js
or this?
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15305500/how-do-i-get-pushnotificationchannel-pushnotificationreceived-event-handler-to-i
Sorry for the superficial response,
Could you provide the steps for testing?
I did look at the phonegap-plugin-push Windows implementation and it seems insanely simple. However, I can't identify real differences between that and my code. I suspect that I'm missing some architectural assumption or a very minor setup step. I'm a complete noob at UWP though and those little assumptions tend to be the ones that take much experience to acquire :)
The second link is a C# one. As it turns out, Cordova UWP is Javascript based but it's still pretty new so there aren't enough docs and situational answers on the web for it just yet.
Thanks a lot for engaging this issue. I think a good general plan right now would be to test if phonegap-plugin-push works as expected, then work backward towards parse-push-plugin to identify the difference. It is also useful to get more eyes on this issue, especially those of devs who live in the Windows and UWP world.
