Tried with different versions no luck.
Possibly related to https://docs.hetrixtools.com/error-92-http-2-stream-0-was-not-closed-cleanly-protocol_error/

Same here, we thought about a workaround for Linux machines (Didn't tested on Windows or MacOS runners, also didn't tested on ARM64 but should work)
Looks like it takes much less time (20 seconds) and very stable since we are using Docker and GCR mirror

For what its worth, installing tailscale v1.82.0 seems to have fixed it 🤷
not entirely sure if this has something to do with it or not, maybe its a intermittent issue? but figured probably worth leaving the information here.

We're also seeing this frequently and have worked around it by using a different install method:

It seems unlikely to be related to the version of Tailscale because the download fails at different points and it seems to be a transport failure that's unlikely to be affected by the contents of the binary itself. Seems more likely to do with whatever hosting or CDN that pkgs.tailscale.com is using.
It could be mitigated by either:

Same here, started seeing it more and more during last week. still an issue for us.
This still happens from time to time. Seems like an HTTP/2 issue and looks like this would solve it: https://github.com/tailscale/github-action/pull/168. Any plans to merge it, or should more people test it?
we are also encountering this issue (many times today, not sure what changed). We use namespace.so for github actions, they have investigated and think it is nothing on their end.
I am able to reproduce this issue right now from Zurich, but not from Chicago or Virginia so it looks like a regionalized issue.

we're still seeing this on >50% of action runs! please reopen the issue on status.tailscale.com since it still has massive impact
ive been experiencing the same thing intermittently, I have around 50 or so jobs that can run during some actions and id say 95 times out of 100 they will work without issues other times one of them will bail out due to the download failing.
The simplest thing i think would be to attempt the download again if it fails for up to x amount of attempts.
