Create issues in GitLab/GitHub after create issues/tasks at Taiga

Open ayr-ton opened this issue 8 years ago • 15 comments

When creating a issue in GitLab, create the same issue at Taiga. Changing the category of an issue under taiga should add or remove labels under GitLab/GitHub.

If you guys enjoy this idea :+1:, I will be happy to help with the code implementation.

It sounds good!, I'm talking with the development team about it to check if we have any extra considerations/comments/ideas about the implementation and will write again as soon as possible! :+1:

Hello @ayr-ton

We all agree it's a really good idea, this one could be the first step for the bidirectional communication between Taiga and Gitlab/github. We think labels synchronization should be configurable via the project admin.

Regards!,

Yes! That would be great! :+1:

Also would be awesome the synchronisation between github/gitlab comments and taiga ones, because external people would comment in github instead of the website of taiga. But yes definitively synchronisation between github/gitlab issues and taiga issues is a huge improvement. And of course viceversa if you create a issue / comment in taiga put it in github

Other thing would be create a milestone per spring for example and modify the assignee person. Just to make a true integration between taiga and github/gitlab

Hello @kevinrobayna the issues synchronization from github/gitlab to Taiga (including comments) is implemented and working from a long time ago, what it's still not developed is the communication in both senses.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

I am impatiently waiting for this great feature. Is there an alternative until it's ready?

any chances for the taiga -> gitlab communication ? :)

It's possible using a webhook. You may check the one I made https://github.com/mikaoelitiana/taiga-webhook-handler

What about using the Gitlab API (http://docs.gitlab.com/ce/api/) instead of webhooks for communication between Taiga and Gitlab? That would make it entirely 2-way.

I can see 2 ways this would work; 1 is if Taiga fetches its live data from Gitlab, which would require quite a few changes in the backend to allow mixed origin for issues, projects, etc. Another way would be to use gitlab webhooks to auto-update the issues in Taiga and use the API to push changes back.

Is anyone working on this? Because I want this and I am willing to tinker with it.

Any news about this issue ?

Hi, it's August 2019 and it's still ** open ** so ... what's up? Does this feature exist now? Is it still in process?

ChemaCLi avatar Aug 18 '19 14:08 ChemaCLi

@Chemah you have full details about integration here: https://tree.taiga.io/support/integrations/gitlab-integration/

Currently, we don't have communication from Taiga to Gitlab, but it's something that we still have in the roadmap. We are closing features for Taiga 5.0, but the content for Taiga 6.0 will be the integration with other tools.
