Overall overview of all projects

Open josecostamartins opened this issue 9 years ago • 14 comments

I don't know how easy is to integrate this with both methodologies (kanban and scrum), but some sort of overall overview of all the projects would be appreciated.

No other project management tool that i have used has this feature (i've surely never used them all, but i've used some) And this would be great because i could know the overall capacity/load that my company can have/has. Based on this, i can make decisions quicker and faster. I can find bottlenecks, distinguish between back/front end problems, etc. In other words, seeing the bigger picture gives me more tools!

Great work so far

It is in our roadmap! Thank you very much!

I'm more familiar with the way JIRA Agile works than I am with Taiga (my usage of the latter is only very basic to date), but the way the former deals with this problem is to allow a Kanban board to be associated with an arbitrary issue filter (and that filter may span multiple projects).

That particular approach also makes it possible to deal with https://github.com/taigaio/taiga-back/issues/231 - the board just displays the issues selected by the filter, it doesn't care if that filter is a subset of a single project, the union of multiple projects, or a combination of the two.

Where are we on this? This is the reason why I can't use Taiga right now. The management needs to have big picture, especially for resource planing. Knowing the overrall points attributed to projects and allowing me to shift capacities around would suffice to make Taiga entreprise ready. Maybe an overall view of all active sprint and associated stories

In the latest release (1.8) we added the Watching feature, that lets you see how US, issues and tasks are going on (assigned-to, status, type, name..etc.) and a direct access by importance to every project timeline to see who is it going. That's the first step, but could be useful for management.

I too, will switch my whole team if I can administer all the projects on the server as super admin. At least for a first iteration it would be great to see a list of every project (regardless of who it was created by) because I set the server up and can do some post-team-changing administration of rights / ownership on other peoples projects.

I definitely agree on the importance of being able to see the big picture. This is biggest issue blocking me from moving any projects to taiga. I'd love to see ability for selecting context of multiple projects. In corner cases that could be 1 or all projects.

+1 right now we've set up taiga in our company, and as we have some external people, we don't want to set up all our projects public , but in the same time, it means we can't have an easy list to see all the projects

Any news on this feature? Is it still on the roadmap?

Having a global overview dashboard for management people would be a must have IMO.

Thanks guys

Having a possibly filtered overview of all tasks in all projects with a status in columns would be really a great feature! Looking really forward to this.
