No file's thumbnails

Just first time using, and normal open the folder all of files are not showing thumbnail

im sure thumbnails generation is opend

OS: Win10 1903 and there is no named .ts folder in the Wallpaper folder

I founded the .ts folder, it's created in my /desktop .... and yes, delete .ts will work, but others folders still, cuz I can't find they .ts folder

We have released version 4.0.3 of TagSpaces, can you please try to reproduce there this issue?

I have also problems with thumbnails with Tagspace since update to v4.x, currently at 4.0.8. I create a new folder and add image files inside the new directory. When I open the new folder, no thumbnails are displayed. When i try to set a missing thumbnail from one of the images as also the thumbnail of the parent folder i get es message that the thumbnail creation ends with a error. But if I explicitly delete the non-existent thumbnail under file details, it successfully creates a thumbnail for that one image. The automatic creation for all other images does not work. Also a .ts folder is not created directly for the images, only when I assign tags to the folder. Tested with Ubuntu LTS and the latest Tagspaces version.

Same kind of problem under 4.0.8 and windows 10 . I try to set a thumbnail in a folder as Thumbnail of the parent folder. and get an "Thumbnail creation error" . I get back to 4.0.6 and no thumbnail generation error at all for the parent folder. I will stay on this version until the error get solved. Thanks :)

Can you try with the last TagSpaces 4.0.9 and mainly check if thumbsGeneration is enabled in Settings -> General

Also can you press Alt button to view Tagspaces Application menu on Windows and click on show developer tools: The error message from thumbsgeneration in Develper tools Console tab will be very helpful. Thanks!

Tried it with the pro version on windows 10 last update . Thumbnail generation activated by default . It does not work . I deactivated and reactivated it in case of...still no luck. I get back to 4.0.6 (again 😄) where Thumbnail generation works perfectly ;)

Thumbnail generation now works for me on Pop_Os (Ubuntu) after downloading the 4.0.9 app image. Thumbnail generation was enabled by default and my missing thumbnails were generated. Thanks for fixing

Oh dear - thumbnails are not generating again on version 5.1.2 :frowning_face: Im running Pop Os (based on Ubuntu 21.04). I will raise a new ticket.

update This problem only appeared when i sorted by date (in reverse order) . when i just paged forward using the page number buttons the thumbnails did generate. maybe a bug but i can live with that :smile:

@stuartmcneill1-nhs I have try to repeat it but without success. I have check this in Electron version of the tagspaces v5.1.3

1. set order by Date Desc
2. delete thumbs from /.ts
3. open the folder again -> the thumbnails are generated for me: Tagspaces WS: Generating thumbnail for: /Users/sytolk/Music/subrr/viber_image_2022-07-13_18-04-04-094.jpg

Can I have your steps to repeat this issue? and what is the extension of the files that don't have thumbnails generated?

Hi, @sytolk. First of all thanks a lot for your work ;)

I'm having same issue but see no logs about thumbnail generation in console.

• Intel MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 (c) (22F770820d)
• TagSpaces v5.4.4
• Ensured that Enable thumbnails generation is enabled
• The location is AWS S3 Bucket which had those images in it before the installation and setup of TagSpaces
• .ts folder is not created at all, unless I assign a tag to a file (but thumbnails are still not generated).

Unfortunately thumbnail generation on S3 bucket is not supported. This will require to download all the files for which there is not thumbnails. On the other hand if you upload images to a S3 bucket, TagSpaces will create thumbnails during the upload.
