remove configuration for Travis CI + replace badge in readme

Since June 15th, 2021, the building on travis-ci.org is ceased. There have been no Travis builds since that date, so the configuration file can be removed without losing anything vital.

The builds with GitHub Actions are (in my opinion) a working replacement for Travis CI, so the badge for GitHub Actions is shown in the readme file instead.
