turn off thousands separator

On a big file the first column is an integer. tabula-java inserts a comma thousands separator:

999,Hillsborough,70,......... "1,000",Hillsborough,84,........

This may be consider a feature, and not a bug. Is there a way to turn it off? I'd prefer to have unformatted integers.
