Configuring plugin for parallelism

Your question: How can we set the level of parallelism for the plugin inside the plugin configuration? I am familiar with the following article - https://kb.tableau.com/articles/howto/Configuring-Parallel-Queries-in-Tableau-Desktop - but want to know how to do it inside the plugin.

There is no way to set that inside the plugin. The method in that KB article should work with plugins but we haven't explicitly tested that.

It's an interesting idea though. Why would you like to set it in the plugin instead of an external configuration file? That seems less flexible unless this is an inherent property of the connector.

It is very useful if the data source performs best for a maximum set number of parallel sessions, without having to worry about an additional custom configuration file. I still think that it should be overwritten by connection-configs.xml file, if that exists, but there should be a way to do this at the connector level and not an arbitrary default set inside Tableau.

Hi, I am a new PM for the Connector SDK and I am looking at our feature backlog and getting things prioritized. I would appreciate if you can give your feedback for our product via this form. It should only take 2-5 mins but would be super valuable to our team. Thanks in advance!! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfs5OreNsxnva_uTO2vTxnoF-oq-37tEdrUpirUKwqud2Ib7g/viewform?usp=sf_link
