Set up timezone on BigQuery connection

Open mathieu-delaunay opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hello there,

I am migrating a data source to BigQuery, and all the timestamps are in UTC, while I'd like to display the dashboards in UTC+2. Is there a way to change that directly in the data source (or at least without having to create a calculated field for all the dates in the data source)?

I know that for PostreSQL, we can set Initial SQL connection, but not sure if something similar would exist for BigQuery.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I don't have a lot of experience in BigQuery but from what I'm reading, there are conversion methods for timezones. I'm also not sure if you can use initial SQL with BigQuery. It's probably worth an attempt though.

Tableau Technical support may be a better resource for this question.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you, Dan
