Mana HUD Bar / Icon Visual Cap?
Do you intend to personally contribute/program this feature?
No
I would like to see this change made to improve my experience with
Gameplay as a Player
Description
I... dunno if this was mentioned before and I do not know if suggestions are acceptable but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask about it.
Something I've noticed with mods is that you can increase your Life & Mana by other means besides using Life / Mana Crystals. Life Crystals only visually affect the Life Bar / Icons and if you get Max Life added by modded stuff... it doesn't affect the HUD visually but the bar drains / fills / fades accordingly despite the size being small visually.
The Mana HUD Section of this visually doesn't follow like how the Life HUD does, meaning that the more Mana you have, the more segments & icons are added and... depending on what mods you're using... if you really wanted a lot of Mana for some reason... the bar will be very long and could go off the screen. The same thing happens with the icons where they can go off the bottom of your screen... though you would honestly have to go way overboard to get that to happen.
Here are some screenshot examples with the Bar-Style HUD.
No mods and added here and I have 640 Max Mana (32 segments / icons). I have 200 Base Mana and I was wearing...
Titanium Headgear (+100) Amber Robe (+60) Forbidden Threads (+40) Band of Starpower (+20) Magic Cuffs (+20) Mana Regeneration Band (+20) Celestial Cuffs (+20)
...and 3 other random accessories. The Accessories all have the Arcane Modifier and in Master Mod you can wear up to 7 Accessories so that's +140 Max Mana you can have. Finally... Crystal Ball which gives you +20 Max Mana.
Here's one example with a mod's config that I messed with to have 1000+ Mana.
There are 53 segments here as well as icons if you use the other styles, which can overlap on the loadout icons, though the mana star icons will render under the loadout buttons so it wouldn't get in the way at least.
Maybe the Mana HUD visually can be capped at 20 segments / icons, sorta like...
...this and any extra mana will instead make the bar / icons drain / fill / fade accordingly like how the Life HUD works.
I think in the vanilla game it hard caps at 400 Mana (20 Segments & Icons) which you can get with a bunch of Mana Crystals, Arcane Modifiers, Gear that boosts max Mana, etc. but any boosts that go over 400 Mana will not apply due to the hard cap.
Something else I noticed... a Mana Segment / Icon only gets added per 20, so if your Max Mana is... say... 198, only 9 Segments / Icons will show. At 218 Max Mana... only 10 Segments / Icons will show, etc.
Hopefully I explained this well and I apologize for the wall of text.
What does this proposal attempt to solve or improve?
The Mana HUD visually not growing too large to the point that the Bar Segments / Icons will go off the screen and possibility overlap modded hud stuff, depending on where they are placed at and if they lack an option to move those modded hud stuff around. You do kinda have to go overboard with that but there's the possibility of encountering that.
Which (other) solutions should be considered?

very handsome. Do you make the file available? which plugin is it for? or just texture pack?
I forgot about this issue, unfortunately I do not know how to do this nor is it a texture pack. The suggestion was if it could be possible to visually cap the Mana HUD it be Bars or Icons to like... 20 Units / Icons which is what the Vanilla Health uses for it's base cap after using Life Crystals.
The cap could just be based on how many Mana Crystals you've used to increase it visually, since normally max mana without any other bonuses is 200 and health caps out at 400 before any life fruits. In this case when you first start with a new player you have 20 mana but there would be two star icons or units with each one being 10 mana each (Health is 100 and you have 5 heart icons / units, which holds 20 each.)
Each Mana Crystal that is used will add 2 icons / units, as if you only add 1 unit / icon. Visually the bar would look like this once you reach the base cap. Health is 20 Units/Icons while Mana only has 10 Units/Icons in this case.
If you add 2 units / icons per crystal... it would look like this. 20 Health Units / Icons as well as 20 Mana Units / Icons.
...which lines up nicely. If that's not possible then could stop adding in units / icons once you reach 20 of them and instead use percentage for keeping track of how much mana you have, which... does exist, oddly enough. If you had a max of 119 Mana it wouldn't show 6 Units / Icons, it would only show 5 Units / Icons.
Hope I explained this well.
