Search not clearing when no results are matched

Might clean this request up at a later point but wanted to raise this as it's been happening for a while now.

When I enter a search term, and go into select-files to filter down the results further. This works as expected. However, when entering a new search term, the select-files filter is still in effect, which is fine sometimes, however, when I try to clear it due to there being no results based on the current select-files filter, it does not seem to want to be updated, so I'm stuck with a select-files filter I cannot update, unless I modify my original search term for something that will return results, then change my select-files filter, then go on with my day.

I hope that makes sense for now. I'll try and draft an example soon.
