PS5 recognizes Launch keyboard but can't type

Open rigbyjacob opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

The Launch is detected as a keyboard by the PlayStation 5 but keypresses don't seem to register on any input screens.

From limited research, any HID compliant keyboard should work fine, especially USB (most issues are with wireless devices)

Since the Launch is open source, wondering what changes might be required to make this setup work?

It's possible that the rebase might improve the situation: https://github.com/system76/qmk_firmware/pull/31

Unfortunately I don't have a PS5 to test with though.

Is it possible to update the firmware from Mac OS?

A quick reading of instructions seems to imply need Pop_OS (which i don't have access to at the moment, that computer is in another kingdom)

To update from that PR, you'll be building from source and flashing manually. I believe this is possible to do from macOS, but I don't have enough experience with macOS to be able to help.
