lemp11: Suspend fails if SATA drive is unmounted and stopped

Open crawfxrd opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

  • Model: lemp11
  • BIOS version: 2022-07-05_62f4da9
  • EC version: 2022-07-05_62f4da9
  • OS: Pop!_OS 22.04
  • Kernel: 6.0.6-76060006-generic

lemp11 fails to reach S0ix when a SATA drive is unmounted and stopped. On resume, the system is unresponsive.

Steps to reproduce

  • Install SATA M.2 drive
  • Power on system
  • Unmount drive if it is mounted
  • Remove AC power
  • Wait for kernel to stop SATA drive
  • Suspend the system

Expected behavior

  • The system enters S0ix (blinking power LED)
  • The system resumes to GDM

Actual behavior

  • The system does not reach S0ix (solid power LED)
  • The system becomes unresponsive with only a blinking cursor

Additional info

You can tell when the drive is powered off when this shows up in dmesg:

sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Synchronizing SCSI cache
sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Stopping disk

Also happens on addd02860a1a.

Needs to be retested now that S3 is used.
