Hey, bro, thx for the patch. Nice work! Just one question: Is there any way to drive 1920x1080 HiDPi at 60hz?

Looking forward to your reply. Thx!!

@yuanshq Which system you use?

@syscl EI Capitan

@syscl I did some research, it seems that mac os x has some restriction on refresh rate... The main problem for me here is the mouse delay and lagging problem at 30hz.

@syscl BTW, Im using HDMI.

@yuanshq well, there indeed has 4K limitation in macOS. So, attach your configuration especially graphics card, monitor and etc...

There's some ways to patch the IOKit to release the resolution limitation, but still you cannot reach 4K @60Hz due to the operation system.

@syscl I'm not clear, does it actually mean that driving 1920x1080 HiDPi is same as driving 3840x2160 in non-HiDPI mode? If so, HDMI indeed doesn't support refresh rate at 60Hz. Maybe MiniDP will work that out?

yuanshq avatar Nov 10 '16 02:11 yuanshq

@yuanshq First, you should inject 1920x1080, and I will see your information later since I have due tonight.

I will reply you later.

@syscl I am using DP, instead of HTML. Problem perfectly solved. Thank u so much, bro!

Best, yuanshq

@yuanshq Do you mean that my script works under DP?

Yes, dp under macOS support 4K @60Hz

Hi, I am using MacMini Late 2012, and also using 4K monitor from LG 27UK600, cable that use is Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort with Gold Plate. the mac mini can hit 4K but only 30hz and also 1920x1080 HiDPI but 30hz, how can change to 60hz. and I am using MacOS Sierra 10.13.4
