G2 RS-485 support

Not sure whether this have been addressed before or even supported right now: would G2 be able to support a RS-485 serial interface between the controller it's running on and a VFD controller driving a spindle? Ofcourse the underlaying HW needs to support a RS-485 interface. This would allow G2 to control the spindle (on/off, speed, etc).
