Display of the Offset Location Indicator should also be possible in the color of the hostility status

The display of the Offset Location Indicator should also be possible in the color of the Hostility Status.

From my point of view, it should be possible for the user to display the offset location indicator in black (as before) as well as in the color of the hostility status.

Changing the display should be possible in the preferences (analogous to the function "use simple status modifier").

Furthermore, the Offset Location Modifier should be displayed somewhat narrower (analogous to the line width of the point symbol).

Current:

Second desired display option:

This is problematic for at least two reasons a) What's with HQs? HQ staff is also painted with icon border color/width (usually black). b) The exact line width is hard if not impossible to get right from the icon's border. Icons are drawn in a different manner and can also be scaled, which is not possible for lines/offset indicator.

Additional questions:

  1. We use a white symbol outline. Would the Offset Indicator also require this?
  2. What about Offset Indicators for texts? Should these also be coloured in a different way?
  3. Is it common to need Offset Indicators for others than own units/equipment?

Can you produce a simple tactical picture which would show the improvement in readability/visibility if offset location can be coloured as suggested?

If we would support mono color icons, this would be slightly a different matter: Screenshot 2021-07-22 at 19 13 01
