Improving the properties of the control measure symbols (area - 3 forms)

Open harrywipperfuerth opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

The properties of the symbols for control measure symbols for area (3 forms) objects should be improved, since not all amplifiers can be filled in according to 2525c or 2525d:

The property set for 3 forms area symbols affects the following control measure areas of 2525d:

  • Fire Support
  • Target

Proposal for the content and structure of the property window (named "CM - Area (3 forms)" for control measure area symbols:

Remarks:

The green marked amplifiers correspond to the specifications according to 2525d. However, the unmarked amplifiers appear to be useful or necessary.

Echelon and Additional information are not listed in the list of amplifiers for area 3 forms symbols in 2525d, but these ampflifiers make sense here and are in the overview of the amplifiers for area symbols (Table H-II, page 390) in 2525d.

My suggestion would be to include this amplifier in the properties and map them on the map accordingly.

The display of irregular, circular or rectangle variants of the 3 forms area symbol should be made possible via the respective selection (none, width or radius). The details of this are still to be worked out separately.

The symbol icon (field "A") is already defined when the basic symbol is selected.

The Icon "Change Symbol Type" is used to change the "basic symbol" within the control measure area (fire support) symbols without the user having to create a new symbol and thus discard the previous entries.

  • G*F-AKB[I|R|C]--****X: KILL BOX / BLUE
  • G*F-AKP[I|R|C]--****X: KILL BOX / PURPLE

Geometries are defined as follows:

  • 'R' - rectangular (AREA TARGET only): One anchor point, width (AM), length (AM1) and attitude/azimuth (AN)
  • 'R' - rectangular (others): Two anchor points and width (AM) - essentially a 2-point corridor in our terms
  • 'C' - circular: One anchor point and radius (AM)
  • 'I' - irregular (also '-' for AREA TARGET): Polygon

AM (meters), AM1 (meters), and AN (2525C: degrees, 2525D: mils) are text modifiers.
