Inspiration

@nickdunn mentioned Active Admin for Ruby on Rails in another issue but I think it's concepts and implementation are brilliant. Just want to make sure everyone sees it.

As already mentioned, regarding proposals mentioning an underlying API which both the backend and frontend can use, this is pretty much what I read about how ProcessWire is built, so it'd be a good idea to have a look at this for inspiration as well.

Craft is really made with style. Although the backend has its flaws – the installer is lovely.

Craft is really made with style.

Agreed.

Ghost looks really really nice

We're building a suite of apps based on Bootstrap at work, and I'm so glad I chose it. Completely re-skinned to be unrecognisable (to match our client's brand), and you can crank out layouts and widgets really quickly.

Just came across a pretty interesting and well written book about JavaScript design patterns. Might be helpful for creating Next's client side architecture...

I have a design pattern I wanted to implement a while back, but my lack of knowledge around how it would affect the current JS meant I left it alone.

Here are some “KNOW YOUR HTTP!” posters that may be useful for the API work, and that can be used to bring fun and frolics to any workspace.

Just found this on twitter. I like the overall appearance, especially the texteditor (Markdown/Live). Reminds me a lot or the many commercial/oss markdown editors available. I'd like to see something like this in Next

@iwyg That's what I already mentioned in my second post:

http://john.onolan.org/ghost/

But definitely worth pointing it out again on its Kickstarter launch day...

heh, you're right. My bad.

Wouldn't stuff like this still be an extension in Next? Nevertheless, would be really awesome to have something like this properly done in Symphony.

There's already an extension that brings EpicEditor to Symphony (which offers a similar side-by-side panel in fullscreen mode), but that's far from being as nicely done as Ghost's editor.

Indeed, Ghost's editor looks amazing.

just realized that I really like the feedly UI.
