Just a fun idea to have the transaction graphic on explorer have customizable icons
Here is my concept
I think it would be really neat if we could use some on-chain method for attaching icons to accounts
The process would be like this.
-
some individual community member or some org like NGL on behalf of the community member makes an onchain tx linking an icon to an address. I can think of multiple ways this can be done. just one for instance is a meta data tx from an account to itself inside an aggregate, the other tx in the aggregate is to a sink address just for icon registration. We could require via account rules, that the only tx allowed to that account would be to send a certain mosaic. we can stop spam by requiring said tx to have a mosaic sent to it. Or we could tag accounts with aliases that link to icons or whatever. But the point is there is some kind of on chain registration. I have additional ideas for models from very open and easy to very permissioned depending on the requirements.
-
once a day or some other time period, the transaction graph library sweeps the chain for new icon txs. if it finds some, it then adds said icon to its library.
-
once the library is updated, new icons appear in the explorer to represent an account.
If all went well, this could be expanding into other ideas, for instance wallets.
I'm sure there are other ways to do this, maybe even without the transaction graph library; I guess the point is it would be really cool to have custom graphics to represent different parties. Like for instance, it would be great to tag exchanges and have their icons there instead of a random address.
I tested for some feedback and some said even just adding exchange icons via centralized addition would still be great.
