Apply social/meta titles to RSS Feeds

Open deeveearr opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

I'd like to see a feature on TSF, whereby ‘editing’ the RSS feeds (%blog_title%, %author_name%) etc, is allowed within the admin settings.

I've got a few subscribers to my present RSS feed, and no doubt many more would follow it, if the posts were left open to 'scraping' and stealing my articles.

Thanks for considering,

DVR

I think it's best to set a single toggle: "Use 'SEO Meta'/'Open Graph' titles for RSS feeds?"

I'm not sure whether other fields should be adjusted. Whether we should use Meta or Open Graph titles is uncertain, but I'm leaning towards Open Graph since the feed already conveys the site name.

I'm not too fond of the idea of adding more input fields to support this.

Well I'm not even sure how this 'RSS feeds' works, all I do know is that by using Yoast, or Rank Math, you can see the blog name, and the url to the post in Feedburner.

If open graph does the same thing, then there shouldn't be a problem.

@askel45 thanks for dropping by! Alas, the filter you provided is not related to this feature request. ☹️ Moreover, TSF provides the feature you proposed in that snippet already. https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/blob/4.1.1/inc/classes/bridges/feed.class.php#L176-L199
