Brand the plugin.

But in retrospect, had this had some form of branding on it, people may have avoided going down that path of thinking [of that it's a rip-off]. - Lewis George Hilsenteger
Would you buy an Apple product without the Apple logo? Would you rather get a Seiko, Casio, or Rolex, or an unbranded watch from AliExpress?
If you look around you, your computer's peripherals all have logo's on them: Logitech, LG, Dell, HP, Razer, Schiit, etc.
If you step in the vehicle you own, you'll see a Renault, BMW, or even a Rolls Royce badge printed right on the steering wheel, the thing you interact with most.
When done elegantly, a nice badge brings prowess, confidence, and sophistication. It's a seal of approval: we stand behind the product and everything it does, and we want to let you know who made it.
Branding does not subtract from the product; it adds to it.
Comments are more than welcome.
I think it depends heavily on the product as well. People want others to know they drive a Porsche, it's a tangible status item. Nobody flashes the latest WordPress plugin they used to gain social acceptance in the nice part of town.
For agencies that use this plugin it is better to not have a bunch of plugin branding. I'd say stick to no branding.
