Reset TSF's options and metadata.

Open sybrew opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

From duhblow7's request:

Make it possible for users to delete all metadata and options set by The SEO Framework. Effectively setting up the plugin anew. It's also handy for when users want to move SEO plugins (albeit not in our interest).

In the support topic, duhblow7 supplied SQL queries as a workaround until this is implemented.

We probably want to add an "uninstall plugin" option to the plugin overview page.

It should also automatically deactivate the plugin when it's done (careful: multisite...). Alternatively, this can be done via a prompt dialog.

See https://tsf.fyi/kb/data-stored-in-your-database/. See https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-basics/uninstall-methods/.

I think it'd even be better if we created a separate plugin that does this specifically. We should not provide it via WordPress.org: let users upload the plugin files cognitively. This way, we can also mark the readme text in red.
