Redirection of changed permalinks

Open strarsis opened this issue 7 years ago • 3 comments

When a slug or title (which usually changes the slug) is changed, the permalink is usually also updated. It makes sense to automatically add a redirection to the changed permalink. The {Redirection plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/) has this built-in now. Does it make sense to add this functionality natively to The SEO framework or should this be handled by a separate plugin (Redirection).

This makes very good sense in terms of SEO. Thanks for bringing it up!

However, this feature currently isn't handled by TSF. So, until this is implemented, it's best to let a separated plugin handle this for now.

@sybrew: And please add support for custom post types and hierarchical post types out of the box! Redirection plugin just added these, before this none of the custom hierarchical posts were updated and it was quite a hassle manually adding all these redirections after finding it out.
