Well, I opened an issue but I don't see any text. I guess that proves that I need help! I installed the SEO Framework plugin for a website and read that the "Focus" extension is free. I've downloaded the Extension Manager but cannot activate the Focus extension. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello!

In 2018 we changed Focus from a "free/premium" to an "Essentials+" (Essentials/Premium) extension with version 1.1.1. The reason of which is thoroughly explained in my blog post "All for Nothing". The gist of that is that we needed to sustain our business operability and could no longer give "all for nothing," i.e., "all for free," while others are abusing the ecosystem around us.

Moreover, we couldn't keep shipping the extension for free with the imminent Gutenberg/Block Editor release as that required an overhaul in the data management, which required me to learn React and refactor the code for forward and backward compatibility. The month following our pricing change, we completed the transaction in version 1.2.0.

On a personal note, I also believe the implementation is of such high quality (utilizing innovative threaded "promise loops" and parallel web workers for a lag-free experience, dictionary support, full UTF-8 support, it can recognize and bypass HTML tags, etc.), it deserves a dime per day 😃

Please please forgive me for not replying to you, yet. I am so busy but want you to know that I so appreciate you and the work you have shared.

Best regards, Tania
