Unable to change color on WIZ bulbs

I am unable to change the color of the WIZ bulbs in HomeKit. They respond fine in the WIZ iOS app and in Homey directly.

In HomeKit they turn up as color bulbs, but if I change the color, it’s either not affected or turn to another temperature of white. In HomeKit it looks like it is working, but the bulb is not changing color. A few times it has changed color for a millisecond, before changing to warm or cold white, giving the impression it’s is working, but overridden really fast.

Changing the temperature and brightness in HomeKit is working as expected. For all other brands (Hue, IKEA, twinkly++) changing color is working as expected.

I have tried removing and adding them back. I have tried adding them while in color. Nothing is fixing this issue.

If changing colors for other brands works, I think the issue might be with the WIZ app for Homey, but difficult to say for sure.

Since HomeyKit has been deprecated, you could try the alternative HomeKitty app, which has a different light implementation that might work better.

Switching to another HomeKit app does mean you have to set up HomeKit on iOS again (move devices to the correct room and fix any automations you have), but that should be a one-time thing.
