swirl 3.0 (redesign)
Creating this issue to provide a forum for discussion regarding our proposed swirl redesign (i.e. swirl 3.0). More to come...
Ulf Mertens's review of teaching with swirl is relevant to swirl 3.0.
rappdirs integration
Internal state API and executable R scripts for each question/applied to all questions/applied to some questions based on a tag.
A central repository of swirl courses.
Course authors forget (or don't know) to turn off AUTO_DETECT_NEWVAR. (swirl_courses issue #124)
A test suite for Swirl lessons.
Non-linear Swirl lessons.
Should swirl monitor working directory? See (Issue #266.)
Progress bar for course downloads using httr:progress() (Issue #115)
Custom hints for specific errors #268
Interactive practice problems following a lesson. Practice mode could differ from the lesson itself in that completion is optional (ie not tracked with progress bar) and problems are independent and randomly selected/presented.

As everyone knows, Brian, Jeff, and Roger have expressed interest in providing problem sets. So far, none have appeared, but I thought it worth noting.
Improve skip()
Conditional answer tests swirldev/swirl_courses#148
Allow output text to be able to use variables present in the environment so that something like:

Testing multiple answers to swirl questions: #50 (though this is a swirlify enhancement)
Since R studio's notebooks can render equations in-line, it would be nice if Swirl could make use of this - though I realise that Swirl is running in the console.
hi thanks for the answer but please elaborate a little bit.

Here is a screenshot from an R studio notebook (R studio v1.044). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1348289/eqn..png The equation is entered in RMarkdown (I think, there are so many markdown variants I never know what the correct dialect is). R studio renders the equation as the mouse cursor passes over it, making the equation much easier to understand. Is there any way Swirl can make use of this feature? It might need some enhancements to the R Studio console.
