Let programmer to choose pattern for placement square

As a programmer I would like to choose another pattern (like dot or dash) for placement squares in lines option.

Since current implementation of lines uses CSS background with gradients, there is no simple way to support different patterns of lines. Sorry, but because of many other issues with higher priority, I am forced to postpone implementation of your request. If you want, fill free to provide this extension on your own by creating merge request.
