Improve flow of "Getting GenAI help" section in first episode
The GenAI help section added in #647 currently feels slightly out of place and unexpected.
This issue continues the discussion started in #647 to move it slightly or improve the flow.
Recap of the previous discussion:
- This needs to be part of an episode to ensure instructors see it
- It is likely good to have it in an early episode to address potential questions as early as possible
Potential solution:
- Add a dedicated and explicit "Getting help" section or episode, where the GenAI help section would fit perfectly
A potential source of inspiration for this is the "Seeking help" episode from the "R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis" lesson.
(Thanks to the participants to the previous issue. They should be added as commit co-authors when this issue is resolved. I am not explicitly tagging anyone here to let everyone decides whether they want to follow or engage with this issue.)
Another solution requiring minimal changes is putting the GenAI help section after the keypoints. As some kind of post-scriptum after we conclude the first episode.
I really like it in terms of flow but there is a small risk that it goes unnoticed because instructors & learners are maybe not used to scrolling past the keypoints.
Thanks for opening the new issue + summarising @Bisaloo
I already like your suggestion to move the GenAI section after the keypoints, as you suggest it already flows better and doesn't require the addition of new materials.
Looking at the Episodes sidebar, I have to say that I personally find the section title "Generative AI Help" as a bit incongruous/counter-intuitive, especially for an asynchronous learner that might be navigating through the lesson by themselves. - the term generative AI could itself be an extra piece of jargon. I would be more in favour of renaming it to "Getting help" and adapting the last (https://swcarpentry.github.io/r-novice-gapminder/03-seeking-help.html#other-ways-to-get-help) - perhaps just this bit:
Happy to try to author a first PR on this lesson, once we've figured out how best to change it!
I'm not completely sure I understand what you are suggesting. Would it make sense to already open a PR with your idea so we can discuss it there?
