Is it possible to show page numbers instead of "older" and "newer" or interchange "older" and "newer"?

The current configuration of older and newer works well for configuration sort_reverse: true as the older posts are accessed when you click on older.

But when you change the configuration to sort_reverse: false the oldest posts will appear first and the newest last. However you will still click on older to get to the newer posts and newer to access the older posts.

Is there a way to change older to newer when we change the configuration to sort_reverse: false or just use page numbers instead of older and newer?
