As per email of 20/7/2015: Ven Karunabangsha Bhikkhu (Kbangsha Bhante): has a long term project to prepare the Bengali translations of the Pali canon in a digital form.
It will take some time but the Venerable is working on making the files in Unicode for us. A new issue will be made for each part of the project. Sofar he has only sent the Tha-ap and Thi-ap.
The translation team has been working from the Chaṭṭha Saṅgāyana CD published by the Vipassana Research Institute.
Files received so far (as of 23/10/18):
you need someone to translate them?
Namo Buddhaya!
@itsPronay, no, we actually have them translated in a word document. What we need is someone to match the suttas to the numbering system on SuttaCentral. It's not very difficult work for someone who can read Bengali.
Are you interested?
@thesunshade Namo Buddhaya I would like to... But I need someone to explain me the job.
@itsPronay Wonderful. Let me get up to speed on the condition of the documents and I will get back to you soon.
I think we can start with the KN, so if you wanted to download the zip folder for that collection and start to look at them that would be good. We will probably work on them in the order they are listed on SuttaCentral.
I look forward to working with you!
sure, Let me know when you're available and when & where to get started
@itsPronay, do you have an account on the SuttaCentral discussion forum? I find that DMs there are an efficient way to communicate and keep a record of the conversation. Otherwise we could work by email.
@thesunshade I just created one. username itsPronay
Great. I just send you a DM. I believe that you should get an email notification. If you don't, you may want to turn that on. You can reply to the message by logging in to the forum or simply replying to the email.
