Is it possible to change the cursor position?

I am trying to add text by a drop down and have it append to the current content. Everything works! However, the cursor " | " is always placed before such as :

This is the text I already had in the editor. After I add a name by using a drop down and attaching it to the content, it would show up like this |John

Notice the " | " before John thats the cursor. I guess what I want or need is that that cursor to be automatically placed at the end .

@b-solution nop, never found a way to do it, end up moving to ckeditor
