CrateDB added NULL constraint in 5.6, https://cratedb.com/docs/crate/reference/en/5.6/appendices/release-notes/5.6.0.html could you check if the error still persist in >=5.6 versions?

I think that rather failing fast for certain errors, what would be most useful is to give us an API to stop a connection from retrying, or to manually close...

Does this actually run faster than just initializing the containers sequentially? The internal API is single threaded

Unfortunately it's really hard to reproduce notebooks, who knows what's happening behind the scene with the jupyter server
