Audio dropout when using Spring Reverb on a patch

Open Witcharrr opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

Bug Description: There's audio dropout when using Spring Reverb on a patch with Asio4All

Surge XT Version 1.3.2.f5bd0e1

  • Plugin Type: VST3
  • Bitness: 64-bit

Reproduction Steps: Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Load Surge XT with init saw patch
  2. Add Spring Reverb to FX Section
  3. Play some notes
  4. Get audio dropouts and message "Audio Output Unavailable" in top right corner

Expected Behavior: No audio dropouts while using Spring Reverb.

Computer Information (please complete the following!):

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • DAW: Reaper v7.16; Renoise 3.4.4
  • Audio Interface: Behringer UMC404HD with latest drivers
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F
  • RAM: 64GB DDR4

Additional Information:

  1. This bug only occurs with Asio4All setup. If i'm using ASIO UMC drivers - it's all fine (but due to buggy sound interface drivers Surge consumes twice of CPU power, so that's why i'm using Asio4All + some other reasons).
  2. Also, if Spring Reverb is disabled (but not deleted from FX Section), it continues to give drop outs.
  3. If used with Renoise there's a chance it will crash
