PLL comparator modes in Treemonster

Open cwmoriarty opened this issue 11 months ago • 4 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe! The pitch detection PLL builtin to Treemonster could use some expansion.

Describe the solution you'd like: PLLs are inherently unstable, so I'd really want other comparator modes for the builtin one in Treemonster.

Describe alternatives you've considered: I typically use an external PLL (FrozenWasteland in VCV, or a Doepfer PLL in hardware) and patch it to the Pitch of Treemonster (or another ringmod) for the desired effect.

The wierd slow janky pitch detection is part of the charm maybe? Hah

I’m thinking a lot about pitch this year so I’ll keep this issue open as I do so. Nothing immediate but I agree I bet we can do better!

Oh, absolutely. But the different comparator modes bring different kinds of charm and chaos!

Ha yeah! Indeed we need to keep the current no matter what.

It's not even a PLL, it's just zero crossing counter. And yes, it's part of the charm of this effect!
