Modifier Shape Treated as Geometry

What happened?

Unless I'm doing something wrong, my modifier shape (used to strip away perimeters in this case), is actually being sliced as geometry and generating perimeters around its border:

Yes correct. That’s normal and the way it works. When many of the properties are changed the only way it knows is to slice that area as a different volume and apply the properties to everything. So you now have a different volume in the middle so it adds perimeters around the new volume. Notice the new volume doesn’t have any perimeters as that is what is set for that volume. It’s the way that it’s been implemented by PRUSA. I don’t think it’s going to be an easy job to change it either.
