feature request: lock mails

In my daily workflow I often use my e-mail as a list of reminders or todo's: stuff that needs to be done one of these days keeps lingering in my inbox.

I find myself accidentally archiving mail, though; hitting "a" is easy on a terminal that is always open in one or more screen sessions. I would love some method to lock mails so that mutation of labels is blocked. Would this be possible with the current hook mechanism, or would this require a change to the sup code?

i just mark those emails with a label "todo" or something more specific, the label can never go away by accident, so i can always find them, regardless whether they are archived or not.
