Request for API access: Hanan Asif
Assalāmu ʿAlaikum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh,
My name is Hanan Asif (email: [email protected] ). I am the founder/developer of Tawil, a mobile application available on Play Store and App Store. Our goal is to provide Muslims worldwide with a reliable, well-structured, and easy-to-use Islamic companion app: providing authentic hadith, duas, umrah packages, and more.
We would like to request access to your Hadith API (or a data dump) for the following purpose:
Purpose of Use: We intend to use the API data to import authentic hadiths (such as from Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, etc.) into our own database — store them in vector form — and enable users to search/ask in our app. When a user queries, we will fetch the hadith along with full reference (book, hadith number, narrator, translation) and present it in a clean format. This feature will also help Muftis and students of knowledge to quickly access hadiths with proper references.
API Rate Limits (as per your policy):
Maximum requests per second: as per your discretion
Maximum requests per day: as per your discretion We understand that hadith-API use may be resource-intensive; we are fine with moderate rate limits suitable for moderate user base, and we can implement caching to minimize repeated requests.
Preferred Mode: Our use case is better served by having an offline dump of hadith data, because we plan to store data internally for faster queries, reliability, offline support in the app, and to avoid overloading your servers. However, if live API access is also allowed under your rate limits / terms, we are open to using API for updates/refresh.
Languages Required: Arabic (original) and English translation (if available), to support multi-lingual users.
Programming Language of Client: Our backend stack uses Node.js / Dart / TypeScript (or other web-compatible languages), whichever suits best for mobile + backend integration.
We assure you that data will be used only for educational and religious purposes, and proper credit/references will be maintained always.
We respectfully request that you provide us with:
An API key (or credentials) to access hadith data via your API.
Alternatively — a full data dump (JSON / SQL / other structured format) of your hadith database, if available.
JazakAllāhu Khairan for your time and for providing invaluable service to the Ummah by preserving and sharing hadith knowledge.
