• Your purpose in using this API: We intend to use the Sunnah.com API to provide authentic hadith references within several NU Online digital products, including:

NU Online Website (nu.or.id)

NU Online Mobile Apps

Educational platforms related to Islamic learning The hadith data will be displayed with proper attribution, and only for non-commercial, educational, and religious learning purposes.

• API rate limits:

  • Maximum requests per second: We can work with 1–3 requests per second. We will also implement internal caching to reduce load.

  • Maximum requests per day: Approximately 10,000 – 20,000 requests per day, depending on user activity. This can be adjusted if needed.

• Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access? Programmatic API access is preferred because we require real-time, structured, and up-to-date hadith data. However, if available, we would also appreciate access to an offline dump for redundancy and faster internal search capabilities.

• What are the languages in which would you like hadith data? Primarily: Arabic English Bahasa Indonesia

• What programming language will your API client be in? Our API client will primarily be written in: PHP (Laravel) TypeScript/JavaScript (Next.js) We may also implement integrations in other languages as needed.
