• Please tell us about yourself (include an email address): Hello, I am a Computer and Information Science student looking to build a hadith collections web application.

• Your purpose in using this API: I am developing a web application and an iOS app to provide users with access to a comprehensive collection of Hadiths. The applications will allow users to search, filter, and read Hadiths from various collections. The goal is to promote learning and understanding of Islamic teachings by making Hadiths easily accessible to a wider audience.

• API rate limits:

  • Maximum requests per second: 10 requests per second
  • Maximum requests per day: 10,000 requests per day

• Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access? While an offline dump of the Hadith data would be beneficial for initial data population and to ensure quick access without depending on live API calls, programmatic API access is preferred for keeping the data up-to-date and for retrieving new additions to the Hadith collections as they become available.

• What are the languages in which would you like hadith data? English and Arabic

• What programming language will your API client be in? Ruby (using Ruby on Rails framework) for the web application and Swift for the iOS app.
